Waste Disposal Grounds are closed on the following statutory and civic holidays:

- New Years Day
- Louis Riel Day
- Good Friday
- Easter Sunday
- Victoria Day
- Canada Day
- August Civic Holiday
- Labour Day
- National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
- Thanksgiving Day
- Remembrance Day
- Christmas Eve - Closed at 2pm
- Christmas Day
- Boxing Day
- New Year's Eve - Closed at 2pm
 
When there is inclement weather, the waste disposal grounds will be closed.  This would apply to snow storms where highways are closed and when there is significant snowfall and dangerous driving conditions. If the Lord Selkirk School Division closes their schools due to these situations, then both the waste disposal grounds and Municipal Office will be closed as per Inclement Weather Policy No. ADM-01. Notice of closure will be posted on our website, Twitter as well as sent out via CONNECT.

* No trailers or loaded trucks may enter the waste disposal grounds 15 minutes prior to closing. 
 
Both Waste Disposal Grounds will accept the following items:
  • Wood Waste
  • Scrap Metal
  • Composting (no plastics) 
Note: Residents who reside in the northern part of the municipality (Netley Road and north) also have free access to the village of Dunnottar Waste Disposal Site on Whytewold Road but must obtain a landfill permit directly from their Municipal Office located at 44 Whytewold Road.

Waste Disposal Grounds impose Tipping Fees on waste that is not considered to be normal household waste.
