RM personnel are closely monitoring ice conditions along the Red River this spring and have again partnered with Interlake Drone Services to capture some great aerial footage of the ice break up and movement. These images allowed us to monitor for any potential risk of jamming and to see the ice location each day.
We have found this imagery to be a great benefit to area residents as it allows them to monitor conditions alongside us and it also gives a sense of peace of mind knowing things are progressing well, there is no risk of flooding and that they are safe.
Some areas of interest will often be mentioned such as the Cut, Willow Springs Campground, Goldeye Lake and End of Main. Here is a map identifying these particular areas to help you better understand the location we are referring to in our photos and videos.
We have created a new Flood and High Water Events 2025 Playlist on our YouTube Channel for watching the videos and will provide links below to the photos that have been captured by our drone operator, Steve Bannister and his team at Interlake Drone Services.
