Electronic Landfill Monitoring System

Posted: 2018-01-29

The R.M. of St. Andrews is pleased to announce that it will be launching a new electronic monitoring system at both the Earl Grey and Clandeboye Landfills.  Operator training has taken place and onsite testing is in progress.  The system will be implemented on February 1, 2018.

The purpose of this system is to assist in maintaining an accurate, real-time inventory of landfill permits; provide the municipality with data for long-term planning; monitor landfill site usage by residents; and track all items brought to the landfills.

When using the landfills, please remember the following:
  • Landfill permits are required in order to access the landfills
  • All vehicles entering the landfill will be checked at the discretion of the custodian
  • Paints and solvents are not permitted and can be properly disposed of at RER Recycling in Selkirk.  They also accept a variety of electronics for recycling and can be contacted at (204) 482-2111
  • Tipping fees will apply to certain items brought into the landfills; a list of items and costs can be viewed by clicking on the following link:  Landfill Tipping Fees
We look forward to everyone's patience and cooperation as we transition into a new phase of landfill management.

If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at (204) 738-2076.

The current landfill permits which are being used are as follows:
