Exclusive Bus Lines Service to Take Over for Beaver Bus Lines in St. Andrews

Posted: 2016-06-29

Exclusive Bus Lines has announced that it will provide the service starting at the beginning of July 2016.

In March, Beaver Bus Lines announced it would be ending its weekday service between Selkirk and Winnipeg as of July 1 due to decreased ridership and increased expenses.

The new service is a partnership between Exclusive Bus Lines and Selkirk Transit. They have said that there will be no interruption in bus service.

The new bus route will be slightly different. The current bus transports passengers between the Selkirk Bus Depot and the Balmoral Street and Ellice Avenue bus stop in Winnipeg. The new route will be express from Selkirk to St. Andrews, then to the University of Winnipeg’s downtown campus on Portage Avenue.

Bus service will run Monday to Friday using motor coaches with air conditioning, washroom facilities and Wi-Fi Internet Access.  As was the case with Beaver, there are flag stops along the route on Main Street/Highway #9, as well as scheduled stops.

Fares can be paid on a one-way, day pass, book of 20 tickets, or a monthly pass.  Fare purchases are available through the City of Selkirk, Selkirk Transit and Exclusive Bus Lines, who can be called at (204) 888-4411.
